Dear Bayside Members:
I would like to ask a favour of you all in our plight to overturn the recent ISAF decision that will see Windsurfing removed from the Olympics program starting at the Rio games in 2016. There have been many excuses thrown forward blaming the RSX program and all sorts of other reasons why the ISAF has made this decision but as it stands no one really knows the background so this side of the argument should be ignored and right now we need to make some noise as a group. There has already been an amazing response worldwide with nearly 12,000 petitions having been signed to date. We are aiming for 25,000 so we need everyone to get behind the cause.
It is easy to make a difference, all you need to do is do is fill out a quick form to add your weight. The link is http://www.change.org/petitions/isaf-keep-windsurfing-as-olympic-discipline so please take the time to help voice your disapproval and try to get the decision overturned. It would be a real shame to see our long involvement with the Olympics end especially if we have an opportunity to reverse the decision.
Best Regards,
Scot Farley (President - Windsurfing Queensland).
